Carroty Wood Trip Notice

Where: Carroty Wood, Barnabas Adventure Centre
When: 7th-14th August 2010
What will we do? Some of the wide range of activities they provide are High Ropes, Climbing, Abseiling, Pedal Karting, Rafting and Canoeing. We will also by trying some new activities such as BMXing and a Night hike! As well as instructed activities every day, we will have fun group activities which promote team work, communication skills and determination. Guaranteed to be a jam-packed week of never-ending enjoyment

Thorpe Park Trip 30/10/09

On Friday 30th November, EMIYC members visited Thorpe Park on behalf of Kent Youth. Everyone was very excited to go, including riding the new rollercoaster Saw; they even waited 80 minutes in line to ride it! We would like to say thank you to Kent Youth who made the day happen and we hope for more events in the future.

Want to volunteer at the youth club?

For the next few youth clubs we will be searching for the next group of junior helpers to help run the youth club. You will be able to reap the benefits of becoming a helper and it will provide you with valuable life experience. Positions are open to anyone who is 15 or above but if you wish to still apply and under 15, we will still consider you! Helping out at youth club can go towards Duke of Edinburgh service award. Thorpe Park Fright Night

Kent Youth is running a trip to Thorpe Park for their annual Fright Night on Friday 30th October. The price is £12 per person. Travel arrangements will be decided upon numbers nearer the time. If you wish to go on this trip, please sign up by Friday 25th September (next youth club).You must bring in a cheque of £12 to “English Martyrs Youth Club” by Friday 9th October.

Want to go on more trips?

EMIYC is always looking for new activities for the members. After 2 successful residential trips in the past 2 years, we want to expand our trip excursions. We want to do another residential activity in the summer of which we want to know what you want. If you have ideas for further trips or ideas please email the youth club at emyouthclub@googlemail.com.

Membership forms

If you have changed address in the last 3 years, you will need to fill in a new membership form. If you have changed emergency contact numbers or email addresses, you will need to also fill in a new form. You can download a form from this website or pick one up from youth club. New members get to come for free on their first night!

We’re Back!

The 2009 Carroty Wood trip was a success! Sherrick says:

What a week at Carroty Wood! It has been absolutely amazing, and everyone had a great time. We did so much during the week from tackling the high ropes to get down and dirty on the low ropes course. Many participants came with a fear, only to overcome it during the week – well done to all those who did. During the week, each participant improved their personal development through different activities and strategies.

Photos from the trip will be posted to those who bought them at the meeting, and for those who didn’t here’s a taster of what you’re missing!

It’s not too late to buy one though, just send an email to info@pdwd.net and just ask for one. You can pay in person, cheque, PayPal and even via bank transfer if you wish! It’s only £10 for loads of photos of everyone.
