Grants

We are very fortunate to get occasional funding from various foundations for new equipment. Below is a time line of who has funded us, and what we achieved with the help.

September 2008

In September 2008, we were awarded a further grant from the GrassRoots Fund from KCF. This money would be used to go on more equipment and services for the youth club and make the youth club alot more better.

June 2008

Since we have obtained the Youth Opportunity Money, we have done a lot to the youth club and it could not have been done with the Medway Youth Parliaments help. By providing new computers and new cinema equipment we have been entering all members in the digital world. However, new sports equipment and of course, the new refurbished toilets.

Since last year, we have put in for another bid to get funding, this time for only two big projects. Firstly, we have put a bid in for the youth club trip to subsidise it. Per person, the total price would be £300. We also want to concentrate on making the youth club accessible to disabled children and work in conjunction with the rest of the parish who uses the hall. We want to make it a place where all diversities of people can come. We will keep you posted on the outcome of this.

March 2007

We have just brought new equipment for viewing DVDs and we have called it Friday Film. This is where you can watch new and favourite DVDs in the comfort of the youth club. Look at the news section to see more about this new feature.

We have also added a new page to the website which is dedicated to Friday Film – and you get to suggest and vote, what you want to see next.

UPDATE – 08/07/08 – We went to the meeting to have an interview for the Medway Youth Opportunity Fund and we were highly regarded during the process. Fingers crossed it is to our advantage!

October 2006

Some helpers at the youth club came together to make the youth club better by applying for a grant from the Medway Council.
This grant can improve the youth club for YOU!!!!!!

Over the months we would like to improve by providing:

  • Better toilet facilities
  • Computers (With internet access)
  • New sports equipment
  • Movie nights
  • Better disco equipment
  • Providing hot and healthier food
  • Better game consoles and games
  • Workshops
